Username: Bird
Character name: Slatepaw
Gender: Male
Age: 9 moons
Soul Animal: Blue Shark
Rank: Apprentice
Physical Description: Slatepaw has light grey, ruffled fur, ringed with darker colored grey markings similar to that of a tiger, jagged and striped. His grey fur is slicked back and wet, almost as if recently touched by water, though his fur is rough to the touch. He has white-tipped ears and paws. The tom has alarmingly electric, bright blue eyes that dazzle with intelligence and knowingness, revealing knowledge beyond his age. He holds a confident, steady and firm gaze. Towards the end of his body, his tail grows thicker and wider, branching out to be a grey shark tail with wide fins, nicked at the edges.
Personality: Slatepaw can be quiet at times. He rarely opens himself up, except for those whom he knows and is closest to. His silence is often caused by his lack of words and able to make up proper conversations and things to say. He enjoys this silence, and is fine with it. This makes it difficult for him to find friends. He loves being by himself, and the peace and quiet, however does not mind company. However, the tom is not aware that his silence can be confusing to others, trying to figure out what it is exactly he wants. The shark-cat just seems to think everyone knows what he wants and is okay with that.
Slatepaw is usually antisocial, and is often alone or off by himself. He fears for what others think of him, and is rather shy and un-confident when talking to others. He usually tries to hide his true self trying to be someone else whom he is not, hiding behind a wall of a false personality and attempting to act cool, stoic and unwavering to others, which often works but is see-through to the few who know him best. He tries too hard to act mysterious so that others might be interested in him, without realizing that some might love him just the way he is already.
Slatepaw rarely makes any friends, but when he does, he tends to stick around to them, trying to impress them. He is rather clingy around his friends, and treasure them. He does his best to keep and protect them. He has a strong loyalty to his friends, though it is at a certain point. He is kind towards those whom he knows, and shows his affection to them from time to time. He feels a pull of loyalty to his friends and his friends only.
Slatepaw has a sense of humor. Despite his shy personality, when around his friends, he can be sarcastic and sassy, and only very few cats are able to bring out that side of him. He shows this trait when he feels 'at home' or more 'comfortable' at most.
Slatepaw is forgiving and understanding, though sometimes he can hold grudges and whatnot. He is not the cat to forget things, and it is not impossible for something to anger him, though he tries to keep a cool temper. He can easily burst and crack out under pressure and stress. When angered, he tends to lash out and scream uncontrollably, as a way with dealing with being upset, and collapses into an emotional heap afterwards. Even, still, he can be pretty terrifying during one of his rampages.
Slatepaw sometimes take things very seriously. Sometimes he can't stand it when people seem to be giving the right amount of care or interest into things he might think is serious. The tom can actually be judgemental sometimes, taking a liking to critiquing others based on how they act without getting to know them too well first.
Some cats may mistake Slatepaw's kindness and timidness as a weakness, but in actuality he is emotionally strong, and physically sometimes as well. The tom takes to building up emotional pillars and defenses in fear that someone may hurt him.
Slatepaw is actually pretty intelligent. He is smart and quick-thinking. He thinks well on his feet, and strives for information and knowledge. He hungers for it, and will endanger himself just to find and interesting piece of information. He loves learning, and is rather observant, which makes it easy for him to learn. And if he puts his mind to something, he can accomplish it. Once he has his heart set on something, it will be hard for something to throw him off of his course, as he often sees that it is done.
Skills: Slatepaw is an excellent swimmer, partially of his love for water and his soul animal. He is good at hunting as well, quiet on his feet, even though he is not too fast. The tom can strike quickly and silently.
Weaknesses: Slatepaw in overall is not that great of a fighter. Despite this, it would require some effort to take the young apprentice down, concerning his rough, hard skin inherited from his soul animal. However...
Slatepaw can easily be overpowered is shoved or forced into a tight, cramped space where he cannot use his speed or freedom of space to his advantage.
The tom can also be brought down if one could get a grip on his tail, even though it is strong and attacking there could be risky, with a well-aimed toss and throw, it could render t apprentice dazed and unfocused.
Other than that, Slatepaw has all the other basic weaknesses, and vulnurable when hit in vital areas, like the throat and belly, which are unprotected by his rough skin.
History: Slatepaw was born into the world by his mother, Daisyflower, who was kind, sweet loving and caring. She loved her kit and nourished him to her best ability. The queen was about to be pregnant with another kit, a brother for Slatepaw, but was soon lost to greencough.
Slatepaw was then given over to the custody of a foster queen, living his life knowing very little about hi mother, even though, being at a young age when she died, never really mourned for her.
Family: Daisyflower(deceased)
Roleplay Sample: Slatepaw felt the cool, green grass beneath his paws. The sun shone down it's golden rays, warming his slicked down fur. Beads of water slid inbetween his pelt and vanished. The tom felt relaxed. He wagged his shark tail slowly. He lifted his bright blue, sparkling eyes towards the clear sky. Slatepaw felt great and ecstatic today.
Limbs trembling, the shark-cat took another step forward. He felt the need... the urge to run. He felt like something was calling him... pulling him. He wanted to run, and dance, and enjoy his freedom. And he did.
Slatepaw broke out into a run, his paws carried him fast and far. He flew over the earth and terrain, kicking up dust, rubble and dirt. He took long strides, closing in great distances. He felt free. He felt the adreline rushing through his body, flowing through his veins.
The wind rushed and whipped his grey fur around. He spun, digging his claws into the soft soil. The grass rippled beneath him, and the tom took in a huge breath. With another huge leap, he danced and spun around. He felt happy. He felt the joy of running and being alone, able to have his only privacy. His bright blue eyes flashed with energy and happiness.
His breath came out in hurried, ragged puffs. He felt exhausted and tired. His lungs expanded, trying to catch air. His frenzied and exciting dancing was slowing down, coming to a stop, and finally, he began to stand still. And he felt wonderful.
